Bandleader, singer and trumpeter Louis Prima, who'd enjoyed huge successes in the 1930s and '40s, mounted a major comeback in the 1950s, after teaming up with Keely Smith and Sam Butera & The Witnesses. This collection, which is one of a closely-linked trilogy, presents the very best of Prima's solo recordings for Columbia, Jubilee and Capitol between 1952-59, with the emphasis very much on his 1956-59 Capitol output. It features pre-Capitol collectors' items like “The Bigger The Figure”, “Luigi” and “Man, Dig That Crazy Chick”, although twenty-one of the twenty-five side are from his Capitol output.
